WHAT IS THE NEWENT ONION FAYRE?
THE HISTORY OF GLOUCESTERSHIRE'S MOST UNUSUAL SUMMER EVENT
St Mary's Church is steeped in history. Dating back to the 12th Century and having rebuilt a number of times, the church boasts the largest unsupported wooden ceiling in the country and a locally built church organ which is of critical acclaim.
But for the Newent Onion Fayre the Church plays host to a magnificent collection of wedding dresses. A beautiful display of shot silk, pearls and embroidery mix with simple contemporary designs.
Enjoy a cup of tea and a slice of home made cake while you take in the beauty of the exhibition and have a rest from the day.
A 'must see' for those planning a trip down the isle.
