Laura who lives in Newent will open the music section of the Onion Fayre on the main stage from 9.30am. Make sure you get down to the town early so as not to miss this one off special performance of the day.
The Happy Amazons
HOT NEWS! Harking from the Forest of Dean and Nashville, USA this all-new female rock band will be pounding out classic favourites from The Rolling Stones, Led Zep and Cream, plus many others.
The new line-up features established local musicians Angie Arnott, Teri Sagar, Jane Pearl and Sam Jones, who’s combined musical experience covers a wide and diverse range of styles from country, blues through to the thumping rock favourites they’re playing on the day... with a girl twist! They’ll get you jumping!
The Roving Crows
The Roving Crows will charm you with a funky up-tempo sound which is guaranteed to get you dancing. With roots in traditional Irish music and influences ranging from country to rock and blues the band generates a moving and upbeat experience. Original material is a mix of humour and social statement that reaches and drives the crowd. Whatever your taste in music, with uillann pipes, flute, bagpipes, fiddle, double bass and lead guitar, their unique blend of story and music set to a thumping beat will definitely entertain and get you on your feet!
Harmony
Chill out with this 2-piece band with a fine selection of country easy-listening favourites. New to the Onion Fayre they're sure to get a warm welcome from those wanting to relax and enjoy.
Electric Fred and his Frenetic Three
Made up of four talented nutcases playing traditional jazz and swing, the quartet has played over 30 years and refuse to take life seriously - great entertainment!
Newent Community Choir
Following in the footsteps of Glebe Chapel Choir, this popular group made up of members of the congregation and local Newent people will perform a selection of traditional and contemporary pieces twice during the afternoon in the URC Church Garden this year on Broad Street.
The Bubonic Wind Band
Medieval bands are few on the ground but this bunch more than make up for it. Their unique sound and costume has ensured they remain a firm favourite at the Onion Fayre each year.
Trick Dicky street magician and Billy Busker children's entertainer will be there to entertain the children all day.
