The Onion Eating Competition

Can you beat the record for eating a 7oz onion?

At 1 p.m. the audience wil gather at the main stage for the first round of the competition, the ladies event. Each is given a 7 ounce peeled raw onion. Last year's winner, Bev Booth smarted her way into first place and into the record books.

The second round is sees the men chomp their way through a whopping 7 ounce onion like it's an apple. Once consumed the contestant has to hold their arms outstreched and mouth wide open for the judges to declare them the winner.

Alex Navarou held on to his title in 2009 after a wild display of chewing and determination and held the cup high for all to see.
